As an agency, it’s incredibly important to support foster families to ensure a successful and beneficial placement for both children and carers. At BGFA we aim to create a safe and supportive environment for our foster carers and children. We do this by providing our staff with all the necessary training, and creating an atmosphere where everyone is able to experience growth in their career and personal lives. 

Regrettably, there are numerous misconceptions surrounding foster care that can often deter individuals from considering becoming foster carers. At BGFA, we are here to dispel these myths and provide you with accurate information. 

Research suggests that children and young people in care have certain developmental delays, these can be physical, mental and emotional. Therefore, it’s imperative for foster carers to cater to their needs, as well as supporting their development, through educational support, physical health and emotional/mental welfare. 

Foster care is a transformative system that can change the life of a child in a positive and uplifting way. Here at BGFA we have numerous examples of our own foster children whose lives have been transformed since being fostered.
