Breaking fasts with BGFA: A Ramadan initiative

This Ramadan, BGFA aims to bring the community together by holding gatherings to celebrate the spirit of the holy month.

BGFA has planned dinners where all foster children and foster carers can come together, break their fasts, and go through the spiritual month together. Each carer is bringing a dish from their culture, and BGFA will help to both amplify and appreciate the cultures our foster carers and children are from.

One event will be held in Slough where our headquarters are based, and another will be held in Birmingham. This will allow foster carers from around the UK to have a chance to join us.

BGFA continuously celebrates diversity

By bringing together our carers and children who are from both different cultural and religious backgrounds, we aim to celebrate our differences and learn more about one another. We encourage all children and carers from different faiths to take part in Ramadan traditions with BGFA.

BGFA always aims to spread generosity and gratefulness

At BGFA we know how important it is to be grateful for what one has, especially during this important Islamic month. We want to cherish and spread generosity among our foster carers and children by providing them with events where they can engage and truly be immersed in the community spirit.

During the month of Ramadan, it’s important to be grateful for what you have, in particular having food and drinks to break one's fast with, and family and friends who one can be with during such a significant time. With everything happening around the globe, BGFA wants to spread generosity supporting one another during this month, as well as be grateful of the fact that we are to be able to eat, drink, laugh and be with each other.
